MEET LAWRENCE A. COHEN

Lawrence A. Cohen has been providing Financial Resource Development expertise to the nonprofit sector for more than three decades. He is a firm believer in developing strong working relationships among board trustees, organizational leadership, and professional staff. This partnership is critical to the success of any major fund raising effort. He emphasizes a strategically planned and personal approach to Financial Resource Development.

            He has served with accomplishment and distinction most recently with the American Friends of Bar-Ilan University as their Vice President of Major Gifts. Prior to his tenure at the University, Mr. Cohen was the Chief Development Officer of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. He also served at the Birthright Israel Foundation as Vice President of Development and Director of Development of New York City's Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. 

            In addition to his work at the Museum, Mr. Cohen was Director of the New York Region of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he oversaw the institute's development efforts.

            Mr. Cohen held several positions within UJA-Federation of New York, including a post as Director of Major Gifts on Long Island, as well as positions within the New Haven, Stamford, CT and Springfield, MA Jewish Federations.
